Coherence problems are really unintended distortion by-products added to the music during recording, mixing and mastering. Until Spectral Coherence Control® there was no way to know the exact effects – or artifacts – to surgically remove them to restore coherence.

Coherence plays a crucial role in audio engineering; it involves the phase / timing relationships between audio signals and their impact on sound quality, spatial perception, perceived dynamics, and creative possibilities.

High count multi-track engineering (D.A.W. or Console) by definition introduce coherence problems, because different microphones capture the same sound source with varying amplitude and phase relationships, but we are so accustomed to the results we may no longer notice.

How To Use Spectral Coherence Contol

The graphical frequency domain plot colors match the color of the buttons that allow the user to hear the audio.
• The Red ORIGINAL button allows the user to hear the original unprocessed audio, shown in the plot area as colored Red (the original audio FFT plot).
• The Green PROCESSING button allows the user to hear the processed audio, what is shown in the plot area as colored Green is the processing happening to the audio that results in what is being heard when the Green button is pressed, the repaired audio.
• The Yellow REMOVED button allows the user to hear the audio that is being removed, and is shown in the plot area as colored Yellow (the removed audio FFT plot).
