Planet Venus Audio Tech recently completed its second participation in CanJam Dallas 2025, November 8^th and 9^th. Live sound demonstrations were busy with attendees listening to what Spectral Coherence Control ® could do for their sound via premium portable DACs and headphones. Additionally, details for the hardware implementation of the Spectral Coherence Control ® algorithm were shown and described as being early in the development stage. The product is designed to be placed in the digital processing stream with its output sent as the input to the user’s current outboard DAC. The basic features include digital in and out selection switches (usb, Toslink, SPDIF, AES), with both balanced and single ended headphone DAC outputs. Candidate front panel designs were shown to include a touch panel display to control the sound quality along with the possibility of remote control via a phone app to enable sound control from the user’s ‘sweet spot’ listening position.

Compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11 it also uses the iLok licensing technology like the Mac based tools, and needs an iLok account to run. Planet Venus Audio Technologies® LLC will conduct a tutorial titled “How to remove unwanted distortion from digital audio – a demonstration”, daily at 1 PM in their exhibit room, 1211, at the Southwest Audio Fest in the Anatole/Hilton – Dallas, Texas, March 15 – 17, 2024. The tutorial will show attendees how to use the newly released Spectral Coherence Control ® Audio Unit plug-in to adjust the sound quality of audio tracks. Attendees will hear the before / after audio results on a two-channel system, and simultaneously see / hear the distortion they are removing via real-time frequency domain plots. A sign-up sheet will be available for 30 minutes on one of 2 MacBook Pro laptops so attendees can experiment for themselves (iFi Diablo 2 / Shanling H7 DACs with ZMF/Focal/Beyerdynamic/Austrian Audio or customer headphones). At the end of the show Spectral Coherence Control® licenses will be given away to 3 lucky attendees who provide their name/email for the drawing.
